i spoke to the coroner last night. she confirmed what he was always worried about: he had a heart attack. it was in the right side of his heart. he almost definitely felt no pain. he was in a very deep sleep. i heard him snoring very loudly only ten minutes before i checked on him & discovered he was gone. i did cpr on him while waiting for the ambulance, which arrived almost immediately. he looked very peaceful, with his eyes gently closed. when i arrived at the e.r. they led me into his room. i sat with him for about an hour. he was still warm to my touch. he looked like he was asleep. i was there with him - but it still does not seem real.
